Garbh sanskar is an ancient Indian Ayurvedic practice that helps to shape the personality and character of the fetus inside the mother’s womb. Various practices like yoga, meditation, chanting mantras, listening to music etc are done by the expecting mother.
These practices are responsible for shaping physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health of the unborn child. Mantras generate positive energy and all the mantras have specific purposes. Chanting mantras provide peace of mind and purity at heart. The unborn baby will also get this quality along with the mother to be. While I am not a very religious person, I am spiritual, more so after giving birth to my son. I was not able to recite all the mantras during my first pregnancy, but my mother being a very religious person used to chant them I used to listen to them.
If you are like me and still want to harness the benefits of Garbh Sanskar, I suggest you try listening to the mantras, if you’re unable to chant them. Point being – the unborn baby inside of you, should be able to hear the chanting.
