Honeydew Melon Cucumber smoothie

Summers have started in India and it is very difficult to manage the hot temperature. We must keep ourselves hydrated! While drinking water is the way to go, it can become very boring at times!

You can beat the heat with refreshing smoothies. The best thing about summers are refreshing and hydrating fruit varieties which are available in the market. I love honeydew melon fruit but people in the house are not a big fan of this fruit.

So, I thought of preparing a refreshing smoothie which will have all the goodness of honeydew melon. I am sure your little one will love sipping the green delicious  honeydew melon smoothie.

Honeydew melon is composed of about 90% water and it is a great source of vitamin C and has potassium similar to that of a banana. This fruit promotes healthy skin and also repairs the skin.

How to sneak in nutrition

I have also used cucumber in addition to honeydew melon to prepare this refreshing drink. Cucumber will help to flush out the toxins and will help to fight heat both inside and outside.

In addition to it, I have used mints leaves which will promote digestion and will also cure the stomachs in cases of indigestion or inflammation. Another most important ingredient is Himalayan salt, it is extremely helpful to regulate water content both inside and outside of cells and will helps to reduce acid reflux.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup  chopped honeydew melon
  • 1/2 cup chopped cucumber
  • 10  fresh mint leaves
  • 2  teaspoons fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Himalayan salt

How to make Honeydew Melon Cucumber Smoothie

Peel , deseed and roughly chop the honeydew melon. Do not discard the seeds. Dry the seeds for 2-3 days in sunlight and remove the outer cover. You can roast the seeds and enjoy it as snacks.

Peel the cucumber and roughly chop it.

Take a blender and combine honeydew melon and cucumber along with lime juice, mint leaves, and Himalayan salt. Bend for 2-minutes or until smooth.

Serve fresh.
