Whole Wheat Choco Lava Cake

Choco lava cake is my all time favorite. I can enjoy it anytime of the day. Choco lava cake is super moist, rich, chocolatey, sinful and do I really need to go on? It is a delight for the chocolate lovers.

Today I am going to share a healthy and yummy choco lava cake recipe using whole wheat flour and cocoa powder. You need only few ingredient to make lip-smacking and healthy choco lava cake.

Chocolates are considered as unhealthy and high in calories, it is due to the addition of sugar substance and not due to cocoa. Cocoa is highly nutritious and contains antioxidant properties. It lowers the level of cholesterol, blood pressure and is rich in calcium and potassium. It boosts blood flow and improves brain function. Of course cocoa also contains caffeine, so some moderation is required.

How to sneak in nutrition
I have replaced the regular chocolate with dark chocolate, it is a powerful source of antioxidants. Whole wheat flour is rich in vitamin B1, B2, E, calcium, folic acid, copper, zinc, fiber. They are the best alternative of Maida.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoon cocoa apowder
  • 4 tablespoon of powdered jaggery
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extracts
  • 1/4 cup bitter chocolate cubes
  • 2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • a pinch of salt
  • 4 tablespoons of water

How to make Whole Wheat Choco Lava Cake

Keep all the measured ingredient handy.  Take a mixing bowl add wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt and mix well using a spatula. The dry ingredients are ready.

Take another bowl add powdered jaggery, olive oil, vanilla extracts, and water. Mix well.
Add lemon juice to it, mix well. The wet ingredients are ready. Mix all the wet ingredient and dry ingredients together, little at a time. Ensure no lumps are formed.

Pre heat the oven to 220-degree Celsius for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, grease the muffin cup with oil and dust it with some flour. Tap and remove the excess flour.

Pour the batter and place bitter chocolate inside the batter. Make sure they are immersed in the batter. Bake the molds for 25-30 minutes. Once done, allow the cakes to cool for a minute or 2.

Gently invert the molds on the serving plates. Dust some cocoa powder on top of choco lava cakes. Moist and hot choco lava cake is ready to be served. Enjoy!
